I love José Pizarro’s food and I also love that he has a footprint at the Royal Academy of Art. So, having viewed the Summer Exhibition it seemed only right and proper check out his restaurant in the beautiful Senate Room. The food is elevated tapas-style and the menu is quite ‘meat light’ but none the worse for it. I was dining with a vegetarian so, all was well. There are some Pizarro crowd-pleasers such the tortilla with a soft, oozing centre (still the best in London) and the panne con tomate - fresh and punchy tomato flavours - accompanied by a delicious tomato with gazpacho-style dressed salad. I can’t remember the whole menu because I was too engrossed with my guest so, my advice is go for the art and stay for the food. You won’t be disappointed.
